Goa hold Services, Railways win

Goa managed to salvage their reputation when they held formidable Services to a 3-3 draw in their second Pool B quarter-final league match in Santosh Trophy National football championship at Guhuwati, Sunday. Goa thus collected their first point.
Railways registered their second victory beating Punjab 2-1 in the other match. Railways thus have six points and are assured of a semi-final berth, irrespective of their outcome against Services on May 24 when Goa take on Punjab.
Services have two points, Punjab and Goa one each.
Goa are still with a chance of qualifying provided they beat Punjab on May 24 and Services are beaten by Railways.  Yesterday, defending champions West Bengal and former champions Manipur made their way into the last four.
Manipur scored a facile 3-0 victory over Chhattisgarh in their last quarter-final league finishing top of the Group A table with seven points. Bengal finished second with four points after suffering 1-2 defeat at the hands of Tamil Nadu.
Manipur will take on the runner-up of Group B in the first semi-final on May 26, while a day after West Bengal will lock horns with the winner of Group B.  The final is slated for May 30. - Heraldo
