GPL final: Dempo concede lead to GSA

PANJIM: Goa Sports Academy pegged back Dempo Cricket Club as their bowlers kept chipping away and restricted Dempo for 220 to take a vital lead of 59 runs on the second day of their three-day GPL league final at Academy ground, Porvorim.
Dempo’s batsmen got good starts but none of them capitalised to play a big innings. Santosh Upadhya top-scored with 35 for Dempo as spinner Indra Shekhar Reddy claimed 3-38 while Reagan Pinto took 4-81 for GSA.
Earlier, GSA’s first inning ended at 279 with Sujoy Tarafdar scoring a timely half-century. He along with Sharman Vaz, who remained unbeaten on 14, added valuable runs for the last wicket. Arun Wagji bagged 4-53. At the draw of stumps, GSA were 16 without loss with Sagun Kamat and Anup Kolambkar batting on 5 and 9 respectively.
