MAPUSA: A fine performance by striker Depraj Sangelkar enabled Nerul Sports Club record a fluent 2-1 win over St Sebastian Sports Club, Fatorda and enter the quarter-finals of the Late VM Salgaocar Soccer organised by Saligao Sporting at Saligao grounds, on Friday.
Deepraj Sangelkar got off to a fine start for Nerul with a goal in the third minute. The striker was at it again in the 20th minute when he handed Nerul a healthy 2-0 lead at the break.
Right after the restart, Deepraj came close to grabbing a hat-trick but Fatorda’s Anton Fernandes who was at the other end headed wide. However Fatorda’s never say die spirit saw Anton reduce the score five minutes from time.
