GOA Police beat Laxmi Prasad Sports Club

MAPUSA: Goa Police Sports Club made the most of an easy opportunity as they slammed five goals against nine-man Laxmi Prasad Sports Club in just half an hour’s play in their GFA Second Division League (play-offs) played at Duler grounds, Saturday.
It was a comedy of sorts at Duler, as nine-man Laxmi, who were being put to sword by the Policemen, were left with only six men at the half hour mark as three of their players Remy Fernandes, Samir Agarwadekar and Jolios D’Costa left the field citing injuries after every goal in a theatrical manner.
Goa Police who are looking forward to making it to the First Division started on a bright note as Elias D’Sousa struck in the very second minute, before Aggio Antao made it 2-0, six minutes later.
Goals continued at regular intervals with Amir Salgaoacar (24th), Swanand Naik (27th) and substitute Rohidas Mhalogi (30th minute) finding the net. With Laxmi having just six men on the field after the third goal, referee Ashok Shirodkar was left with no option but to award three points to Goa Police, who now stand a good chance of progressing.
