Salgaocar’s MUPC dreams crash

After reaching the semi-finals, Salgaocar who were representing India recently returned from the Manchester United Premier Cup South East Asia finals held in Sriracha, Thailand from June 6 to 9.  Salgaocar first met Singapore at 10 a.m. Salgaocar dominated entirely and scored through Aldrich Coelho after ten minutes. Singapore scored a goal in the dying minutes to snatch a draw.
Salgaocar crossed swords with Thailand at 2 p.m. and lost 0-5.  At 4 p.m., Salgaocar locked horns with Malaysia but the game ended goalless despite efforts from both sides to break the deadlock.
Salgaocar suffered a 0-2 defeat in the final league game against Indonesia at 7 p.m.  With two draws and two losses, Salgaocar still managed to qualify for the semi-finals at the expense of Malaysia.
On June 8, Salgaocar faced Thailand in the first semi-finals, losing again 0-5, which brought an end to Salgaocar’s dream of progressing.  “The boys played well, but found it difficult to get used to the food and also the astro-turf surfaces made the games much faster,” summed-up Salgaocar junior coach, Agostinho Antao.
Thailand eventually won the tournament, defeating Singapore 3-0 in the finals to book their place in the world MUPC finals in Manchester.  Former Manchester United and England captain Bryan Robson, who is currently the coach of Thailand was the chief
