Ponda Football Veterans showed some good shooting skills to overpower Chandor Veterans 3-1 to enter the finals of late V V Dempo Memorial Veterans League organised by Goa Veterans Association, at Chandor ground on Saturday.
Ponda and Chandor played a goalless draw during the regulation time.
Both the teams missed open opportunities. For Ponda, Cyril and Anthony’s headers hit the crossbar, while for Chandor, Santan Furtado and Robert Fernandes shots were saved by Ponda keeper. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Kashinath, Teddy and Anthony scored for Ponda while for Chandor, Santan was on target. On Sunday, Ponda will face Ilhas Zone in the finals at 4.30 p.m.
