PVC Association, Parra, scored a solitary goal victory over Milagres Sports Club in the inaugural match of Fr. Chico Cup Bayside inter-village football tournament organized by Candolim Sports Club at Dr. Gustavo Monteiro Stadium, Candolim, on Monday.
Both the teams began on a promising note but failed to score on a couple of occasions. Parra finally found the net through Vergilio Lobo whose rasping drive hit the goalpost and entered the net giving no chance to rival keeper, Luciano.
Stung by the reverse, Milagres tried to draw level but Parra keeper Roger was equal to his task in safeguarding the goal. Earlier, the tournament was kicked-off by the President, Mr. Lourenco Fernandes, of Candolim Sports Club. - Sports Reporter DLP
