Holiday Club, Arpora prevailed over Milagres Sports Club 5-3 via the tie-breaker after a 1-1 draw to move into the semi-finals of Saligao United Cup soccer 9-a-side inter-village football tournament organised by Saligao United at Saligao Seminary ground, Thursday. There was no score at half time.
After a goalless first half, Milagres took the lead in the 40th minute through Joelen Fernandes after intercepting a back pass from Gaurish Naik.
Down by a goal, Arpora fought back and restored parity 10 minutes later through Pradeep Chopdekar off Sanjay Kudalkar’s cross. In the penalties, Gaurish Niak, Saish Palyekar, Lawrence Rodrigues and Pradeep Chopdekar converted for Arpora while Pascoal Furtado and Norvin Pontis were on target for Milagres. - Sports Reporter DLP
