Calangute Association scored a solitary goal victory over Carmona Sports Club in the inaugural match of Calangute Panchayat Cup All-Goa inter-village football tournament at Poriat ground, Calangute, Wednesday.
Calangute scored the all-important goal in the 55th minute through a penalty. Calangute were awarded the penalty as Domnic was brought down in the danger zone. Sherwin Lobo made no mistake in putting the ball past the Carmona keeper.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by acting sarpanch of Calangute, Sneha Salgaocar in the presence of Alirio Lobo, general secretary, Calangute Association and GFA executive committee member and other club officials. - Herald
