Sanvordem Boys, Sanvordem defeated Chunouti Boys, Dharbandoda by 60 runs in the finals of 12 overs Arjun’s Sanvordem Premier League sponsored by Mata, Mamata and Sukhadata and organised by Sanvordem Youth at Mollem panchayat ground, Tuesday.
Sanvordem Boys set a target of 128 while Chounouti Boys only managed 68. The winners were richer by Rs 1 lakh while the runners-up had to settle for Rs 75,000 alongwith trophies. Following individual prizes were awarded: Man of the series Harish Naik (Sanvordem). Highest wickets taken Sanjay (Thorlemal Boys). Highest sixes Pravine (K Star). Best catch Mahesh (Chunouti).
A total of 93 teams participated. Churchill Alemao, PWD Minister was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour, Venkatpatipati Raju, former test cricket selector and Arjun Salgaocar.
