Beto, Opara for Churchill

Odafe plays waiting game  With the 2010-11 season having more or less ended for Churchill Brothers with just a single trophy in the form of the IFA Shield triumph, the Goan side will need to fortify in key departments and the club has already taken important steps towards realizing the same.
It is reliably learnt that Dempo’s star midfielder Beto has already agreed a deal with Churchill Brothers after having made his intentions of looking for a “fresh challenge” apparent.
The Brazilian wanted his way out earlier this season but was asked by the club management to stay at least until the end of the season. While he was earlier linked with Mohun Bagan, Beto opted to stay in Goa and help Chuchill pose a strong challenge in the I-League next season.
Meanwhile, former Air India striker N.D.Opara is another notable signing made by the Churchill management, according to sources. The trio of Charan Rai, Robert L and Khanthang Paite are already on their way out of Churchill Brothers and are expected to join the East Bengal camp.
The future of Odafe Okolie is always up for speculation every summer and this year won’t be different as Mohun Bagan are ready to break the bank to land the Nigerian centre forward at their club.
Odafe is likely to hold talks with Churchill at the end of the season and would discuss the financial viability of him remaining at the club.  “I haven’t decided my future and will think about it after the last game only,” said the top scorer. - Herald
