PANJIM: St Anthony’s Sports Club defeated Saligao United 3-2 via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of the 15th Holy Cross inter-village football tournament, organised by Holy Cross Sports Club, and played at Vodlemoll Kakoda ground, on Sunday.
Both the teams played attacking football but could not get into the nets as the defenders of both the teams did not allow strikers to get into their area. The scoreboard read 0-0 at the full time. In the resulting tie-breaker John Baretto, Clyde Pachecho and Ryan Fernandes were on target for St Anthony’s Sports Club, Colva while Alfred Rodrigues and Martino Fernandes were for Saligao United.
