India U-16 boys all set

After being put through their paces for the past ten weeks, the India U-16 team probables are currently on trial for the next two weeks, which started on Monday at Chowgule College, Margao under the tutelage of India Academy coach Colin Toal.
Forty seven boys are being considered, before the team is cut down to thirty. Goa's Myron Mendes who has spent the past year in Florida, USA at the IMG Academy is a near certainty. Goa's U-16 captain at this year’s Mir Iqbal Hussein trophy, Klins Mendes has been with the camp and is also being considered.
The players are training for the SAFF Cup, which will be held in Nepal from August 1 to 10. Later in the year, the team will travel to Uzbekistan for the AFC U-16 qualifiers, where they will face Uzbekistan, Tajikstan, Krygstan and Bahrain.  AFC ‘B’ Licence coach Mario Aguiar is training the goalkeepers. - DLP
