Sporting Club of Davorlim defeated Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 7-6 via the sudden death to storm into the semi-finals of All-Goa Cana Benaulim Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Cana Benaulim Sporting Association at St John Baptist ground, Benaulim, Friday. Don Bosco were leading 1-0 at the breather.
Don Bosco held a slight edge over their opponents and opened their account in the 23rd minute when midfielder Francis Andrade hit the target.
Changing ends, Davorlim equalised through Preston Fernandes. In the tie-breaker, Sidney Furtado, Venson Figuereido, Bonnie Niasso, Joaquim Orkay Faleiro and Jose Colaco were on target for Davorlim while Roque Borges, Mahadev Talwar, Savio Faleiro, Danny Dias and Joel scored for Don Bosco. In the sudden death, Paxton Fernandes converted for Davorlim while Ahsley Araujo failed for Don Bosco. - DLP
