PANJIM: PES College of Arts and Science, Ponda and Fr Agnel College, Pilar won the inter-college volleyball championships in men’s and women’s section respectively.
In an exciting finals played at Massane de Amorim grounds, Panaji, PES College defeated Zantye College 3-2 in the men’s section.
Defending champions Zantye College started off positively, winning the first two sets 25-21, 25-16.
PES College fought back strongly and won the third, fourth and fifth sets 25-15, 25-22 and 15-12. In the women’s section, Fr Agnel College beat Rosary College in straight sets 25-15, 25-16.
Dr A S Dinge, Principal of PES College was the chief guest for the men’s final and awarded medals and trophies to the winners. Mr Alex Vaz was the chief guest for the women’s final.
