MAPUSA: St Anthony’s High School, Monte Guirim emerged champions of the U-14 boys North District inter- school hockey, organised by DYSA with a 3-1 drubbing of Fr Agnel High School, Pilar in the finals played at Peddem Sports Complex, today.
The Guirim lads were powered by first half goals from Ashwin Chaudi (12th), Pankaj Toralkar (20th) and Ritesh Kushva (24th) to book a state finals spot. William Colaco scored the consolation goal for Pilar in the 44th minute. The boys were joined by the U-17 girls team who got the better of Our Lady of Rosary, Dona Paula by a solitary strike from Shubani Haldanakar in the 54th minute.
