Loyola beat St Andrew’s 3-0

PANJIM: Loyola High School, Margao defeated St Andrew’s Institute, Vasco 3-0 to move into quarter-finals of Mahindra Youth Football Challenge (MYFC) Under-14 Schools Football Tournament-cum-Talent Hunt, organised by GFA at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, on Monday.
Snayden Madeira, Maxson Fernandes and Rufflen Fernandes scored for the winners.
In another match, Regina Mundi High School got the better of St Anthony’s High School, Majorda by a solitary goal. The all-important goal was scored by Deepak Aagre.
At Duler grounds, Assagao Union scored a 2-0 win over St Xavier’s High School, Moira. Rohit Kambli and Alton Nazareth found the mark for Assagao Union. In the other match, Holy Cross Convent, Siolim prevailed over St Joseph’s High School, Calangute by a solitary goal. Salil Vernekar netted the winner.
At Don Bosco grounds, Don Bosco High School, Panjim scrapped through Chubby Cheeks High School, Pilerne 2-1. Dayne Britto and Patson Ribeiro scored for Don Bosco while Gajanan Naik reduced the margin for the losers. In the other match, Auxilium High School, Caranzalem were awarded a walk-over as St Cruz High School failed to turn up.
At Curtorim grounds, Manovikas High School, Margao defeated St Joseph Institute, Chandor 2-0. Aditya Barros and Adnan Maulana were the scorers.  Quarter final fixtures: 9.30 am: Auxilium vs Don Bosco.10.30 am: Infant Jesus vs Manovikas.3.30 pm: Holy Cross vs Assagao Union.4.30 pm: Loyola vs Regina Mundi.
