MAPUSA: Nagoa Sporting Club left it late before they toiled their way past the challenge of PVC Parra by a solitary goal to enter the semis of the Lakhanpal Novino Gold soccer, organised by Candolim sports club, at Dr Gustavo Monteiro stadium, Candolim grounds here today.
In an exciting encounter, both sides gave a fine display of attacking soccer. However, the likes of Gauresh Naik and Pramod Mardolkar lacked the composure for Nagoa, while Tyson Fernandes and Peter Menezes saw their attempts go wide for Parra. Finally it was the stalemate was broken in the in the 55th minute as Nagoa’s diminutive medio Stanley Coutinho found the rival nets with a sublime left footed attempt.
