GOA BAGGED SEVEN GOLD AND ONE SILVER IN PARA-ARCHERY

PANJIM: Goa bagged seven gold and one silver in the 1st FITA Round National Para-Archery Championships, held at Amravati (Maharashtra).  The Goa team was represented by Mangesh Kuttikar and Rachel Selva Dhanaraj.
Mangesh won gold medals in 30, 50, 70 and 90m events while Rachel won the gold in 30m and silver medal in 50m events.
Goa also won the overall championship gold medal in both boys and girls categories.
Mangesh, an ace archer had represented India in IWAS (International) Championship earlier and he is a bronze medal winner in National Para-Archery Championships held at Bhuwaneshwar in January 2010. Presently he is working in Mormugao Port Trust, Mormugao. Rachel is a computer lecturer in Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi.
Both the players are trained under the guidance of Ms Laxmi Priya, SAI coach. Mr Vishram Naik, president of Paralympic Association and secretary Mr Sudesh Thakur congratulated both the players.
