GFA 2nd Div League: Sesa record first win

MAPUSA: Sesa Football Academy (Jrs) registered their first win of this year’s campaign of the GFA Second Division League after they got the better of Penha de Franca Sports Club, Britona by a solitary strike at Duler grounds, Wednesday.
Penha went into the match with an undefeated two-match run while Sesa had only two draws to show from their last round encounters. The Britona outfit were the first to have a go at the rival defence as medio Russell Fernandes stinging effort was well grasped by an alert Sesa custodian Jerson Pereira.
Just as the match seemed to be heading for a goalless draw, two substitutes braced themselves for the occasion. Striker Raymond Rodrigues spectacular overhead punt across the goal area was well met by fellow substitute Umang Naik, who evaded a couple of defenders before slotting the ball home.
