Milagres, Sesa FA share spoils

MAPUSA: Milagres Sports Club, Mapusa erased the first-goal deficit to hold Sesa Football Academy Sanquelim 1-1 and share a point in the GFA’s Second Division League match played at Duler grounds, here on Saturday.
The much-awaited Second Division League finally took off, with both the sides playing attacking soccer.
Sesa lads, after much probing opened their account in the 10th minute of the first session, where Reagan Pereira’s
25-yard free-kick brushed Milagres keeper Avarz Khan before entering the goal, 1-0.
On resumption of play, both the sides had their attempts at the rival goals.
Sesa’s Paresh Korgaonkar came a cropper as he failed twice in the 8th and 16th minute to guide the ball into the unguarded Milagres goal.
Milagres’ efforts were finally rewarded in the 72nd minute when Waldron Martins managed to sneak into Sesa’s danger zone, to be challenged by Sesa keeper Jerson Pereira, but the ball travelled in the direction of Joalan Fernandes who made no mistake to slot the ball into the Sesa goal, 1-1.
Two minutes later Sesa were reduced to ten players after Caitano Viegas was sent off by referee Sunil Nanodkar for elbowing a Milagres player.
