POINGUINNIM: Goa Police beat Sportsweek by 125 runs and entered the semi-finals of Nanda J Lolyekar 30th rolling trophy all Goa seasoned ball cricket tournament at Nirakar Maidan Dapot, Mashem, on Sunday.
Goa Police won the toss and elected to bat first. In the alloted 35 overs, they socred 270 for 8. Govind Ghadi made a swashbuckling 70, laced with 9 fours. Rajendra Dabolakar made a gritty 62 runs. For Sportsweek, Darshan Karekar was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 41 while Kevin D’Costa picked 2 wickets. In reply, Sportsweek managed to score only 145/9 in 35 overs. Their main scorers were Vaibhav Aigal 26 and Amey Kosambe 29 runs. For Goa Police, Vicky Karapurkar 2/28 and Abhijit Talekar 2/26 did the damage, while five players were runs out.
