MAPUSA: Sangolda Lightning sports club moved into the finals of Aldona Cup Soccer with a comfortable 2-0 win over Nerul sports club at Quitula grounds on Saturday.
After Sangolda keeper Washington Pereira stopped Yeshwant Chopdekar’s stiff grounder, and Nerul custodian Prasad Dabolkar denied Mandar Dessai from scoring, finally it was Mandar Dessai whose hot blooded shot was too hot for Nerul keeper to hold, where Christopher Miranda score off the rebound. In the 65th minute, Govind Balkar made it 2-0, with a neat placement off Agnelo Quadros pass.
