Murray confirms split with coach Corretja

LONDON: British tennis star Andy Murray has parted company with coaching consultant Alex Corretja as he seeks to halt a form slump stretching back to January, it was confirmed Tuesday.  World number five Murray said he had agreed a mutual split with former Spanish professional Corretja, who he regarded as a friend and mentor.

AFC ‘B’ coaching certificate course

PANJIM: The GFA in a press release on Tuesday said that fast tracking to directly attend the AFC ‘B’ coaching certificate course (without AFC ‘C’ Certificate) is applicable to former national players who have at least played 20 Internationals for the senior national team in the competitions. Internationals (who are willing and committed to football coaching) are requested to submit their CV along with the certificates to GFA, to prove that they have played at least 20 internationals for consideration for upgradation.

SWC Zaino enter semi-finals

Inter Milan, Manchester United in the Last eight

LONDON: Holders Inter Milan stared defeat in the face while Manchester United flirted with danger before both teams were able to sigh with relief after reaching the last eight of the Champions League on Tuesday.  Inter staged an unlikely comeback after being outplayed for long periods to win 3-2 in the second leg of their last-16 match at Bayern Munich to go through on away goals after the tie finished 3-3 on aggregate following a night full of excitement.

DEMPO CRUSHED MOHUN BAGAN 4-1

PANJIM: Defending champions Dempo Sports Club continued their unbeaten run in the second-leg as they rode on a fine brace by Clifford Miranda to thrash Kolkata’s Mohun Bagan 4-1 in their I-League encounter at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda-Margao on Thursday.

Dempo face Mohun Bagan

PANJIM: “The boys are all geared up to face Mohun Bagan and they know the importance of that match on Thursday as dominating and getting a positive result out of that game is crucial to our chances of being back in contention for the I-League title,” asserted Dempo SC head coach Armando Colaco on Tuesday.
Dempo take on Bagan at Nehru stadium, Fatorda on March 10 in a round 18 match but Armando sounded confident that his players are keyed up for the big game.
